Chiang Mai Retreat 2011

Buddha - my Saviour

To usher in the new year, most of us would make a symbolic trip to our own religion places of worship for contemplation and blessings.  In my case, I would rather do meditation in nature. One such place is Chiang Mai, there is something comforting about this city. Be it the sights, sounds and food.  It all does wonders for me.

The recent trip to Chiang Mai was one where I went along with my family.  I should mention that because my family are all spiritual one way or another.  The trip turned out to be a pretty interesting experience.  My young cousin in particular got exposed to the spirits which came near us because our energies attracted them. In turn, he had first hand encounters with the spirits during one night when all of us were fast asleep,  he saw the apparition of some spirits who had come by to our beds to say 'hello'.  Instead of being afraid, he was brave enough to face up to them and 'they' then dissipated.

There was a special resort in Chiang Mai which was kinda 'special'.  During the night, I got awoken by some rattling and knocking sounds.  At first I thought that it was the ice maker in the fridge making those noises.  It turns out that there was no ice making facility in the fridge!  I knew there and then that there was something funny going on but where were 'they' hiding?   Finally, it was one of my relative who communicated with the spirits far away as I wondered why 'they' would be making a ruckus for no reason without showing 'themselves' to us.  It turns out that 'they' wanted us to go out into the garden and to meditate to the rising sun!!!  whether it sounded crazy or not, my relative and I didn't even put on our shoes and headed straight to the garden for meditation.
See just how luscious the garden is?

As we were up near the mountains, it was pretty chilly but we went ahead with our meditation anyway and you know what?  It really was an awesome experience.

like a secret garden...here, the forest speaks to your soul.

Feeling the energy of the place

one should be able to meditate, any where, anytime...
